Michigan Business Leaders Support Decommissioning Line 5

Did you know that roughly 1 in 5 or nearly 1,000,000 people in the Great Lakes region work water-dependent jobs? A spill in the Great Lakes would put these jobs, and the businesses that supply them, at risk. The Great Lakes Business Network is a coalition of business leaders standing up for their resources and speaking up against Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac!
Some of the network members work right on the water where the oil would spill.

Others work in the south of the lower peninsula, but understand the wide impacts of a spill.
These business owners recognize that water impacts every element of our lives.
From the food we eat,
to the clothes we wear,
to the beverages we drink,
to the pastimes we treasure,
to the art that inspires us,
and the places where we relax on vacation,
so much of Michigan’s economy is dependent on these Great Lakes.
There are currently 57 Great Lakes Business Network members – all of whom support decommissioning of Line 5 in a strategic manner which minimizes economic impact!
